General Ziya Cemal KADIOĞLU

TURKISH AIR FORCE COMMANDER

General KADIOĞLU was born in Eskişehir in 1961. After completing elementary, middle, and high schools in Eskişehir, he joined Turkish Air Force Academy in 1978 and graduated as a second lieutenant in 1982.Upon graduating from combat readiness training at 2nd Main Jet Base Flight Training Center and 3rd Main Jet Base, he was assigned to 7th Main Jet Base as a wingman in 1984. Between the years of 1984-1993; he served as a wingman and instructor pilot at the 172nd and 173rd Squadrons at 7th Main Jet Base Command. From 1993 to 1995, he again served as an instructor pilot and operations officer at the 1st Main Jet Base 112th Squadron.In 1997, he graduated from Air War Academy, which he had joined in 1995. Organizational Structure Of The Turkish Air Force Command

Turkish Air Force is composed of the following six categories:

  • Officers,
  • Noncommissioned Officers,
  • Civil Staff,
  • Specialized Sergeants,
  • Contracted soldier,
  • Rank and File.

Personnel sources of Turkish Air Force are as follows:

For Officers; Işıklar Military High School, Air Force Academy, universities, promoted noncommissioned officers.

For Noncommissioned Officers; Air Technical Schools Commandership, universities and colleges that civil high school, technical/vocational high school graduates can apply.

For Civil Staff; Citizens.

For Specialized Sergeants; Citizens completing their military services and qualified in the exams.

For Rank and File: Citizens with military service obligation.

Officers graduating from Air Force Academy with 4-year undergraduate education are sent to 2nd Main Jet Base Command and those who are not entitled to be sent due to any reason (health, skills etc.) are sent to Air Technical School Command for specialization trainings.

Stages of flight training system according to technological development of the aircraft present in the inventory of Air Forces Command and specialization of pilots:

 

  • The First Stage: Encouraging Flight Training with T-41 for selecting and encouraging students,
  • The Second Stage, Initial Flight Training with SF–260D aircraft,
  • The Third Stage, Basic Flight Training with T-37 aircraft,
  • The Fourth Stage, Specialization Flight Training with T-38 aircraft for battling jet pilot candidates, with CN-235 aircraft for transportation pilot candidates and with AS-532 helicopter for helicopter pilot candidates.
  • At the Fifth Stage, pilots completing their flight trainings successfully are taken into Training for Adaptation and Combat Readiness at the fleets they are assigned.
  • At the last stage, the pilots continue their Combat Readiness Training at their fleets.

Air Technical Schools Command in Izmir provides specialization, technical, academic and laboratory training for officers, noncommissioned officers, civil and specialized sergeant staff. Basic military and specialization trainings lasting 5 to 10 weeks are provided for ranks and files in Kütahya Soldier Training Brigade Command.
